Recently, FQII has obtained all items of CMA qualification for over-packaging testing, which includes instrumental method (the arbitration method), manual method (only apply to standard-shape sales packages) and other methods (drainage or similar methods). FQII is the first batch of institutes in Fujian Province to obtain this qualification.

    Over-packaging mainly reflects in the excessive layers of packaging, excessive void ratio, excessive material and excessive cost. Over-packaging exceeds the basic function of packaging itself. Over-packaged goods circulating in the market will not only mislead consumers and harm their interests, more importantly, they waste resources and energy and pollute the environment, go against China's building of resource-saving and environmentally-friendly society. The mandatory national standard- GB 23350-2021 " Requirements of restricting over-package—foods and cosmetics" will formally be implemented on September 1, 2023. FQII will expand over-package testing capacity immediately to help government monitor the market and promote Fujian’s "green economy" development.
