Recently, FQII has been approved for CMA overall project qualifications for excessive packaging testing, including instrument methods (arbitration methods), manual methods (only applicable to sales packaging with regular shapes) and other methods (drainage methods or similar methods), which is one of the first batch of institutions in Fujian to obtain the qualifications.
Excessive packaging of goods is mainly reflected in the excessive number of packaging layers, excessive porosity, excessive use of materials and excessive cost, which exceeds the basic function of the packaging itself. The goods in excessive packaging circulating in the market not only mislead consumers and harm the interests of consumers, but more importantly, waste resources and energy and pollute the environment, which is contrary to the requirements of China's development of a resource-saving and environment-friendly society. The compulsory national standard GB 23350-2021 “Requirements of Restricting Excessive Package-Foods and Cosmetics” will be officially implemented on September 1, 2023, and FQII will expand the overall project testing capacity of the standard as soon as possible, assist the government in market supervision, and promote the development of the “green economy” in Fujian.
