Recently, FQII received the result notification of the proficiency testing sent by Shanghai Electrical Apparatus Research Institute (Group) Co., Ltd. , SEARI. The proficiency testing project "STIEE24-PT22 Electrical Clearance and Creepage Distance Test" participated in by Electronics testing department achieved a satisfactory result.

    The electrical clearance and creepage distance test is an important safety item for products such as electronics and electrical appliances, household appliances, and medical devices. Electrical clearance refers to the shortest distance in the air between two conductive components. It assesses the transient overvoltage or the repeated peak value across the insulation, mainly ensuring that the transient overvoltage entering the equipment and the peak voltage generated inside the equipment will not cause the insulation to break down. Creepage distance is the shortest distance along the surface of the insulating material between two conductive components or between a conductive component and a metal protective interface. It assesses the tolerance ability of the insulation under a given working voltage and pollution level, mainly ensuring that the insulation will not produce flashover or breakdown under the given working voltage and pollution level.

    The satisfactory result of this proficiency testing fully reflects FQII’s solid inspection technical level in electrical safety testing, lays a solid foundation for further improving the comprehensive testing ability in the fields of electronics and electrical appliances, household appliances, and medical devices, and ensures the testing accuracy in carrying out supervision for government departments and product quality control for enterprises.
